Inspection

TCS HYDRO offers the following services:

• Integrated survey of hydro turbine equipment (hydraulic turbines and valves), determination of the scope of work required for its refurbishment, modernization or repair.
• Formulation of requirements specifications for a Customer for designing and supply of new hydro turbine equipment (hydraulic turbines and valves), its retrofitting or repair.
• Visual inspection of all the systems and facilities of hydraulic power plants/pumped storage power plants being in operation with preparation of a corresponding technical report specifying their conditions and drawing up a list of activities required for their retrofitting.
• Integrated assessment of the hydraulic unit performance:
• Analysis of energy and power characteristics of hydraulic units over the control valves’ entire opening range so that to define the acceptable modes of operation.
• Determination of a potential for increasing power and extending the range of operation modes.
• Analysis of reasons causing degradation of the hydraulic turbine dynamic characteristics and drawing up recommendations on their elimination.
• Characterization of control elements.
• Transient analysis (load shedding, optimization of start/stop/change-over to synchronous condenser mode, etc.).
• Determination of optimum gate-blade relationship in Kaplan turbines.
• Determination of discharge coefficient by relative method so that to specify the flow rate through a turbine.
